First race of the 2022 season at Castle Combe and it's a sunny day with cool tempatures. The ES Racing team worked hard to repair the gearbox which failed during pre-season testing and during practice and qualifying the team had no problems. With limited pre-season testing, Shaun managed to equal his best lap time from last year 1:17.00. The modifications made to the car over the winter have definately improved the car. Shaun qualified first in class and fifth overall, a good start to the year.
Race 1
Shaun managed to get a reasonable start, losing only one position to a higher class car off the line. After a few laps, Shaun's managed to get a place back, although losing a bit of speed on the straights, Shaun made up the time in the corners. 113 finished first in class and fifth overall.
Race 2
Shaun again got a good start and quickly established himself in fourth place. With the car performing well, Shaun managed to keep fourth place till the end of the race and set his fastest time around Castle Combe, setting a laptime of 1:15.00, matching the lap record. A clear improvement from last year.
Shaun finished race 2 first in class and fourth overall.
